Short Biography
Anna Mazzi is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padova, and Director of the Research Group Sustainability Assessment and Management (SAM.lab). Her research activity, documented by 46 indexed papers and more than 130 other publications (h-index 23 and 1392 total citations by Scopus on October 2023) is dedicated to the use of life cycle sustainability assessment to support process/product innovation for circular economy. Master degree in Management Engineering at University of Padova (1998), Postgraduate specialization in Environmental Management and Control at University of Trento (2000) and PhD in Management Engineering at University of Padova (2005), she has focused her studies on methods and metrics to quantify sustainability performance and to support eco-innovation. Involved in several European research projects (funding lines: EIT Raw Materials, SusFood, EIP-Agri, LIFE Environment, CIP Innovation, Interreg, Intelligent Energy Europe, EQUAL) and numerous national research projects, her expertise is on implementing sustainability assessment standards to support engineering innovation. Her teaching activity at University of Padova is on Life Cycle Assessment, Risk Assessment, and Environment-Health-Safety Management.
